This will come as a pleasant surprise to Arsenal fans as former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has predicted Arsenal will win the 2024-25 English Premier League ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
The Gunners have finished second behind Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens over the last two seasons, narrowly missing the league title on the campaign’s final day in May.
In a recent interview, Redknapp claimed he fancies Arsenal to win the league. He believes Mikel Arteta’s side are the only team that could beat City to the title.
“I fancy Arsenal this year. I just think Arsenal look like they are getting one or two new faces coming in to strengthen the squad even more – they’ve been so close the last couple of years,” the Englishman said.
Redknapp added, “I mean Man City have just been incredible haven’t they, for me they’ve been the best team not only in the Premier League but in the world – the last four or five years they’ve been unbelievable.”
Despite that, he believes it will be different this season. “But I just get a feeling about Arsenal this year, and I know Spurs fans wouldn’t like that, but I’ve got a feeling Arsenal could win it this year.”
Arsenal’s first match in the Premier League this season would be against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium.
