A former Nigerian international Dimeji Lawal has commented on Victor Osimhen’s transfer issues at Napoli this summer. The Super Eagles striker’s future in Italy is still in doubt despite being linked with a move to top clubs.

The likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have been in and out for the 25-year-old, with the Blues currently leading the race to sign the former Lille striker after PSG pulled out of the deal due to Napoli’s asking price.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, also cast doubts over reports that Chelsea’s interest in his client, with a loan move touted this summer with an option to make it permanent afterwards.

And in an interview with Complete Sport, Lawal claimed that Osimhen’s agent should know what’s best for him this summer, given his links with different clubs.

“The truth is, Osimhen has a management team or an agent, and they should be able to advise him better on the situation,” he stated.

“His agent should be able to tell him what to do and what not to do. It’s a tough situation, but he must be calm. Mind you, I am not part of the management team,” Lawal added.

Napoli are already planning to bring in Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea as Osimhen’s replacement, and the club’s new coach, Antonio Conte, is ready to work with the Belgian striker again.
