Former Fulham and Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been hospitalised, due to a rapid heartbeat caused by physical stress, according to reports from Saudi Arabia.
The 30-year-old who only just made a return in Al Hilal’s 2-0 victory over Al Feiha on Friday following a two-month absence due to a hamstring injury, was rushed to hospital early on Sunday morning because of a heart issue.
Reports reveal that the Serbian international has been instructed to take ‘complete rest’ following his hospital admission.
Prior to his injury, Mitrovic had been in fine form this season, netting 21 goals for Al Hilal. The team currently sits second in the league, trailing behind Al Ittihad who hold a four-point lead in the Saudi Pro League title race.
