Ivorian forward and former Arsenal record signing Nicolas Pepe has secured a free transfer to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal after his contract with Trabzonspor expired in June.
29-year-old Pepe, who featured for Arsenal between 2019 and 2023 after a then record £72 million move from LOSC Lille, has agreed a two-year deal with The Yellow Submarine.
“The player will train alongside his team-mates tomorrow for the first time at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground (10am CEST),” Villarreal wrote in a statement on its website on Sunday.
Pepe made 23 appearances for Trabzonspor in total, scoring six goals and assisting three times. He was also part of the Ivory Coast team that won the 2024 African Cup of Nations on home soil.
