Chelsea are through to the next round of the FA Cup after dismantling League Two outfit, Morecambe, 5-0 in their third-round tie at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues were gifted the chance to score from 12 yards early on, following a glaring handball by Morecambe defender Yann Songo’o, but Christopher Nkunku had his effort saved by goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne.

Not deterred, Enzo Marseca’s men eventually found the breakthrough in the 40th minute as Tosin Adarabioyo scored with a strike that went in via the Morecambe post, an advantage the Blues held on to going into the interval.

Christopher Nkunku made amends for his first-half penalty miss as he put his name on the scoresheet five minutes into the second period, before Adarabioyo fired a long-range effort home to register his brace of the afternoon.

Portugal international João Felix then chipped in with two goals in two minutes to help Chelsea snap a four-match winless run and earn a place in the fourth round of the competition.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup on Saturday, Jamie Vardy got a goal on his 38th birthday as Leicester City coasted to a 6-2 demolition of Queens Park Rangers, while Enrico Chiesa got his first goal for Liverpool in the 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley.

Nottingham Forest claimed a 2-0 win at home to Luton Town, Brighton won 4-0 at Norwich City, Bournemouth were 5-1 winners at home to West Brom, while Reading fell 3-1 at home to Burnley and while Bristol City and Sunderland also lost at home by the same 2-1 score to Wolves and Stoke City respectively.
