Former Chelsea midfield star, John Obi Mikel, has slammed forward Jadon Sancho following a dip in form for the Blues in recent games.
The 24-year-old joined the Stamford Bridge outfit on an initial loan deal from Manchester United, with a £25 million obligation to make the move permanent unless the Blues finish in the bottom six.
Sancho began life in West London brightly, grabbing three assists in his first three games, but the England international has struggled to replicate that form on a consistent basis, leading to Mikel’s criticism.
“He came through the door and showed why I wanted him, the first few games he showed why he should be there,” he said while speaking on the Obi One Podcast. “He was running at players, creating chances but since December we haven’t seen anything from Jadon, he cannot relax here.”
Chelsea currently sit in the top half of the Premier League standings and will be hoping that Sancho’s form improves sooner than later.
