Evanilson Receives Verdict for Appeal Against Red Card in Manchester United Match

Bournemouth attacker Evanilson has had his suspension removed, following a successful appeal by the club.

The striker was sent off in the 70th minute during Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at the Vitality stadium last weekend in the Premier League for a challenge on Noussair Mazraoui, with center referee Peter Bankes sent to the monitor by VAR to review the incident after initially showing a yellow card.

The red card would have seen Evanilson banned for three top-flight matches. However, that will no longer be the case after the successful appeal launched by the Cherries.

An independent regulatory commission agreed with Bournemouth’s argument that Evanilson slipped as he tackled Noussair Mazraoui.

He will now be available to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

Bournemouth currently lie 10th on the table – just a point behind Fulham and Brighton, with the race for qualification to the UEFA Europa Conference League next season heating up.
