Manchester City’s Erling Haaland remains a bright spark in a stuttering Premier League campaign for the Cityzens as he set a record in the club’s 2-2 draw with visiting Brighton at the Etihad on Saturday.

The Cityzens got off to the best possible start when they were awarded an 11th minute penalty which Haaland converted to become the first player to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements in less than 100 games.

It has taken the Norway international 94 matches to reach the number, with the goal being his 84th in the league coupled with 16 assists to beat the longstanding record by Alan Shearer with 100 goal involvements in 100 matches.

Eric Cantona and Mo Salah are now joint-third on the list with 100 goal involvements after 116 matches, followed by Haaland’s strike predecessor at City, Sergio Aguero, who reached the century after 118 matches to complete the top five.
