Nigeria national team head coach, Eric Chelle, has shared his thoughts on the Super Eagles’ opponents following the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draws held in Rabat, Morocco on Monday.

Asked about his thoughts, Chelle told reporters there is no small team at AFCON, though, his focus at the moment is on the coming FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.

“There is no little team in AFCON. We need to be focused. I’m focused on my players, on my team, and March,” the Super Eagles boss said. “We need to be focused on the World Cup qualifiers and after that, in October, we can think about the AFCON. For now, we need to win two games in March.”

He added, “Anyone in the AFCON can win the tournament. But now, I need to watch my players, I need to work with them, I need to stay focused on the two games in March against Rwanda and Zimbabwe and after that, I repeat, we will see in October for the AFCON.”

The Super Eagles, finalists at the last edition in Cote D’Ivoire, will compete from Group C against Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania, with the tournament set to kick-off December 21, 2025.
