Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has revealed that the strike duo of Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu are struggling with injuries, as the Blues prepare to face Brighton in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Blues will have a shortage of attacking options on the trip to the AMEX Stadium to take on a tricky Brighton side, as they eye a place in the fifth-round of the world’s oldest club cup competition.

“Marc Guiu unfortunately it’s a bad injury. Nico is better,” Maresca told the press. “Nico could [play this weekend] but it could be a risk but we’ll see. It doesn’t look like a long injury.”

When asked if Guiu’s injury could be long-term, Maresca added: “Could be, yeah. We are still waiting but it doesn’t look a short injury. It’s a long injury. Probably weeks or months.”

Meanwhile, Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia is facing “a long way to go” in his rehabilitation from injury.
