Enyimba Part Ways with Olanrewaju, Announce New Head Coach

Nine-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba, have announced the appointment of former Rivers United boss, Stanley Eguma, as their new head coach.

Eguma will be working with the People’s Elephant for the second time in his coaching career following the sacking of Yemi Olanrewaju. Previously, he was assistant coach two decades ago when the club were won the CAF Champions League.

“Enyimba FC can confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olarenwaju,” the club said in a statement. “The club thanks Coach Olarenwaju for his services and wishes him the best in his future endeavors.”

Olanrewaju’s exit from the People’s Elephants comes on the back of an eight-match winless streak in all competitions, including six straight draws in the NPFL – their longest winless streak in 20 years.
