The proposed loan move of Manchester United left-back Tyrrell Malacia to Benfica has fallen through following the inability of the Red Devils and the Portuguese Primeira Liga side to reach an agreement.
Manchester United and Benfica could not come to an agreement on the loan fee to be paid as well as any future buy option clause, according to transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano.
The Dutch defender who recently returned to the Red Devils squad after a lengthy injury layoff, was keen on the move and had said his goodbyes to teammates at Carrington.
According to Romano, United are still exploring other options for Malacia before the close of the winter transfer window, having received several loan requests.
