Jannik Sinner and men’s record grand slam title winner, Novak Djokovic, now know their opponents for the first round of the first grand slam of 2025, the Australian Open.
Sinner will come up against Nicolas Jarry while world number two, Alexander Zverev will face wild card, Lucas Pouille of France in the opening round.
37-year-old Djokovic, aiming to win a record-extending 25th grand slam and 11th title in Australia, has been drawn to meet Nishesh Basavareddy, who’s made the slam down under as a wild card.
Elsewhere in the men’s draw, world number three Carlos Alcaraz will meet Alexander Shevchenko, Casper Ruud will come up against Spain’s Jaume Munar, while Fabio Fognini of Italy faces 10th seed Grigor Dimitrov in one of the eye-catching matches of the first round.
