Novak Djokovic is through to Miami Open Final and is one step closer to achieving a huge milestone after overcoming Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets in their semi-final clash on Friday.
The world number five made just five unforced errors compared to his opponent’s 32, as he cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win to reach the Miami Open Final for the first time since 2016.
Djokovic is now the oldest ATP Masters 1000 finalist ever at 37 years and 10 months old, having also set the record as the oldest semi-finalist when he took on Dimitrov.
The 24-time major champion will face 19-year-old Jakub Mensik in Sunday’s Final, after the unseeded Czech player recorded a shock 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 victory over American Taylor Fritz in the second semi-final.
Should fourth seeded Djokovic triumph in Sunday’s Final, he will claim his 100th career ATP title.
