Novak Djokovic has fallen to Jakub Mensik as the Czech teenager claimed a first career ATP title in a straight sets win at the Miami Open Final to deny the 24-time major champion a milestone 100th career ATP title.

The final was delayed for over five hours due to the rain, but Mensik quickly settled into the contest and eventually outwitted the more experienced Djokovic 7-6, 7-6 to win the title in what is only his second ATP Final and a first since the Qatar Open in February 2024.

Victory in Miami caps off a brilliant tournament for the 19-year-old, who dropped only two sets on his run to the Final and earned famous wins against Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz and Djokovic.

Mensik, who will now rise to a career-high of 24th when the world rankings are released, is the ninth-youngest ATP Masters 1000 champion and the third-youngest in Miami after Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal.

As for Novak Djokovic, the wait for a first ATP title since 2023 and a 100th crown of his storied career goes on. The Serbian had been bidding to become only the third man in the Open era to win 100 singles titles.
