Arsenal’s Premier League title push took a further hit although the Gunners will be grateful to Declan Rice and David Raya following an exciting 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The opening period saw the visitors dominate proceedings, though, chances were at a premium for either side. Eventually, United got their noses in front shortly before half-time through captain Bruno Fernandes.

United’s captain fired home a brilliant free kick that sailed over the wall and past the outstretched hands of goalkeeper David Raya, whose positioning for the free-kick was called into question.

The second half was far more entertaining with chances for both sides, before midfielder Declan Rice levelled in the 74th minute, when he latched onto a ball from Jurrien Timber and unleashed a first-time shot from the edge of the box which went in off the post past United keeper Andre Onana.

United could have gotten the winner late on but Rasmus Hojlund hesitated when a poor back-pass put him one-on-one with Raya only for the Danish striker to be denied by Arsenal’s keeper. Raya would then make a stunning double save deep in stoppage time to deny United a winning goal.

The result sees United move to 14th on the table with 34 points but for Arsenal, the draw is a huge setback to their Premier League title chances as they find themselves 15 points behind Liverpool now.
