Portugal legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, has scored two goals in his country’s 5-1 win over Poland and set a new record as the player with the most wins with their national team.
The 39-year-old, who now has 910 career goals with his brace in the UEFA Nations League match, now has 132 international wins with Portugal, taking him past his former Real Madrid team-mate, Sergio Ramos, on 131 wins with Spain.
Portugal and Poland were level at half-time at the Estadio Dragao, before Rafael Leao’s header broke the deadlock just before the hour mark before Ronaldo doubled the lead with a penalty.
Bruno Fernandes and Pedro Neto got on the scoresheet as Portugal continued to run riot on the Poles in a blistering second half display which was capped with Ronaldo getting his second with a spectacular scissor-kick goal.
The result seals top spot for Portugal and a place in the last eight, while Poland are in danger of relegation heading into their final group match against Scotland.
