Coco Gauff Storms Past Lois Boisson to Set Up French Open Final Clash Against Aryna Sabalenka

Second seed, Coco Gauff, is through to the French Open women’s singles final where she will face top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday, after blasting past home favourite, Lois Boisson, in straight sets in the semi-final on Thursday.

Gauff is through to only her second final at Roland Garros and looked almost unstoppable when facing Boisson and a vociferous crowd in Paris backing the 22-year-old wildcard after she sent sixth seed Mirra Andreeva and third seed Jessica Pegula packing from the tournament.

The 21-year-old American second seed was unfazed, though, as she blazed through the first set in just 29 minutes, before quelling an attempt at a comeback from Boisson in the second set to seal a 6-1, 6-2 victory and a second final in three years in Paris.

In 2022, Gauff fell to Iga Swiatek, who went on to win the French Open title in 2023 and 2024. However, the Polish fifth seed has been stopped from winning four straight titles at Roland Garros by Aryna Sabalenka after the world number one got a three sets win in the first semi-final.

It means tennis fans will witness a new name win the clay court grand slam for the first time, as Sabalenka will be making a maiden final appearance in Paris on Saturday.
