The American was in sublime form as she saw off the former Olympic champion Bencic 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last-eight, while Mirra Andreeva also progressed after eliminating Yulia Starodubtseva 6-1, 6-4.
In other results, Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina accounted for Elena Rybakina 6-3, 6-4, while Ekaterina Alexandrova pipped Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 7-6.
In the Men’s corner, Norwegian Casper Ruud beat American 23rd seed Sebastian Korda 6-3, 6-3, while Czech 22nd seed Jakub Mensik stunned Ben Shelton of the USA 6-1, 6-4.
