Enzo Maresca continues to see his Chelsea add new faces amid reports that the Blues have agreed with Premier League rival Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign the Portuguese international Pedro Neto.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will reportedly pay Wolves a €60 million fixed fee for the wing player plus €3 million in potential bonuses. The 24-year-old will undergo a medical with Chelsea soon and be unveiled as another new signing in the Maresca era.
Neto will battle with Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling on the wings, but the former might leave the Bridge this summer. While Madueke has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, Neto’s signing could see Chelsea be willing to sell the English winger to the Magpies.
The Wolves star must stay fit when he joins the Blues this summer. Last season, he struggled with injury, playing 20 Premier League games, scoring two goals and registering nine assists.
Neto’s fitness didn’t deprive him of a place in Roberto Martinez’s Portuguese squad for the European Championship in Germany. He registered one assist in the group stage but failed to feature in any of the knockout games for the Seleccao.
Wolves signed Neto from Braga five years ago and have a contract until 2027 with the Premier League side.
