Legia Warsaw are the first team to inflict defeat on Chelsea in this season’s UEFA Conference League thanks to a 2-1 win over the Blues in the quarter-final second leg match at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Tomas Pekhart put the Polish visitors in front with a 10th minute penalty, but Marc Cucurella levelled proceedings for Chelsea just past the half-hour mark only for Steve Kapaudi to score Legia Warsaw’s winner eight minutes into the second half.
The result was not enough for Legia Warsaw to knock Chelsea out of the competition, though, as Enzo Maresca’s men qualify for the last four with a 4-2 aggregate win and set up a clash with Djurgarden for a place in the final.
Djurgarden outclassed nine-man Rapid Wien 4-1 in Austria to seal a 4-2 aggregate win and advance, thanks to goals by Marcus Danielson, Keita Kosugi, and a brace in extra time by Tobias Gulliksen.
Meanwhile, Real Betis played out a 1-1 draw with Jagiellonia Białystok in Poland to reach the semis with a 3-1 aggregate win, and will now face Fiorentina for a place in the final after the Serie A side played a 2-2 draw at home to Celje to complete a 4-3 aggregate win.
