Premier League side Chelsea have been given one condition before signing their transfer target Samuel Omorodion from Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Blues are interested in signing a new striker despite the arrivals of Nicolas Jackson last season from Villarreal and Marc Guiu from Barcelona a few weeks ago.
Chelsea have failed in their attempts to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli so far, and are switching their focus to Omorodion’s signing for now.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid are ready to accept Chelsea’s proposal – a package worth around £35 million – for the Spanish striker, but they will only let him leave on one condition.
Rojiblancos reportedly told the Blues they could have their man if they could sign Julian Alvarez from their EPL rivals, Manchester City.
The Madrid-based club are already in talks with the Cityzens and the World Cup winner’s agent, but they have yet to seal the deal.
Alvarez is keen on leaving the Etihad Stadium after playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland for two seasons in a row. Wanting a warmer climate to live is another motivating factor.
Diego Simeone’s side have already lost Alvaro Morata and Memphis Depay this summer, so selling Omorodion without a proper replacement is not an option for the club.
