Enzo Maresca’s role as Chelsea manager is reportedly not under threat, following a run of dismal results. The Italian, who assumed the role last summer from Leicester City, initially impressed and guided the Blues to a brief title challenge with Liverpool after a strong December.
However, a poor run of just three victories in their last ten games has seen the West London outfit slip down to sixth on the Premier League table, one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Despite the club’s recent struggles, The Athletic reports that Chelsea’s board, led by Todd Boehly, remains content with the team’s progress under Maresca and have no intentions on a managerial change.
The Premier League is likely to receive five spots in the UEFA Champions League next season (based on coefficients), which means that Chelsea still has a realistic path to securing qualification for Europe’s elite club competition.
