Jayson Tatum got a new look when he arrived at Team USA’s camp in preparation for the men’s basketball event at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The Boston Celtics star, who just helped the franchise win a record 18th NBA title, had trimmed his hair down since claiming the first ring in his career.
Wearing a custom tee with an image of himself and the rest of the championship-winning team on display, he stopped for a quick chat.
“Cut my hair off, right before I got here,” he said while chatting about his arrival at the camp. “Ready for the Olympics, ready for the camp. Ready to be a part of the team. Finally glad to be here,” he added.
Tatum is part of a star-studded Team USA that’s overwhelming favourite to win the gold medal as it also includes LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday.
The Americans are in Group C with Serbia led by Denver Nuggets’ big man Nikola Jokic, Puerto Rico with Jose Alvarado of the New Orleans Pelicans in their rank, and Africa’s sole representative, South Sudan, making their debut at the Olympic event.
Team USA’s Olympic campaign in Paris tips off on July 28th against the Serbians, followed by a clash against South Sudan on July 31st and then Puerto Rico to wrap up the group phase on August 3rd.
What nation can you see stopping Team USA from a 17th gold medal at the Olympics?
