Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are working to reach an agreement with Premier League giants Arsenal for out-of-favour defender Kieran Tierney.
Tierney’s contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, and he can become a free agent following the confirmation that his deal with the Gunners will not be renewed.
The Scottish international left-back intends to agree a pre-contract with a club outside of England to secure his future.
Tierney and Celtic will then discuss wage terms, considering he earns a lot more than they can afford. The defender would have to lower his salary to facilitate the move.
The Arsenal man has found game time hard to come by at the Emirates Stadium in recent seasons, barely featuring in the first team.
