Carlo Ancelotti Coy on Trent Alexander-Arnold Joining Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has had his say on the club’s links to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Italian was asked during a presser if Madrid were targeting the Liverpool right-back this month or as a free agent in the summer, with the veteran gaffer insisting: “It is difficult for me to talk about that in this context. But we are going to have to wait and see.”

Ancelotti added: “We are focused on all these games in January and the game tomorrow (against Valencia) and I’ve got nothing more to say. It’s not sensible for me to speak about the market right now.”

The Madrid boss went on to say he already has a great squad, and acknowledged the club has injury issues although it is something that will pass eventually.

“I’m not going to speak about it because right now, here, is not the place to talk about it,” Ancelotti said. “We will see what will happen but I have a great squad. We have got injuries and problems with that but we are also able to overcome them.”

The Spanish giants have had to navigate the campaign, despite mounting injury concerns in the defensive department.
