Manchester United eased to a 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday night, with Bruno Fernandes instrumental in all three goals including the third which he scored to seal victory for the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim’s side came into the tie looking to win back-to-back matches in all competitions for the first time since late January and duly were on their way to it as rare goals from Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

The visitors started well, with midfielder Christian Eriksen rattling the post with a curling effort. United then went ahead in the 28th minute through Rasmus Hojlund, who scored his first goal since mid-December.

Alejandro Garnacho thought he had increased United’s advantage early in the second half but the referee ruled out his well-taken finish after he was found to be offside by the slightest margin.

The 20-year-old did not have to wait long to put his name on the scoresheet, though, as he collected a pass from Bruno Fernandes before drilling home in the 67th minute for his first goal in 24 games across all competitions.

Fernandes put the icing on the cake with a late goal as United sealed the win, sending a first-time shot into the bottom corner after good work down the flank by Diogo Dalot.

The result moves Ruben Amorim’s side up to 13th on the log while Leicester City remain in 19th position, nine points adrift of safety as relegation to the Championship continues to call their name.
