Ola Aina’s Nottingham Forest are out of the UEFA Champions League spots in the Premier League following a 2-0 loss at home to Brentford on Thursday night.
The first half at the City Ground looked set to end goalless when Kevin Schade popped up with the opening goal with a minute before the half-time whistle.
Anthony Elanga came close to equalising for Forest but was denied by Mark Flekken, who would end up providing the assist for Yoane Wissa to double the Bees’ lead with 20 minutes left to play.
Brentford held off Forest to claim a big win, which puts them on 49 points in 11th spot, just two points behind eighth-placed Fulham – a position that could end up being a Conference League qualifying ticket.
Forest on their part are sixth with 60 points, behind Chelsea on goal difference and a point behind Manchester City, with four games left to play in this Premier League season.
