Veteran Forward, Breanna Stewart, made WNBA Finals history in New York Liberty’s 80-66 win over Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 of the finals, producing seven steals in an inspired performance from the two-time MVP.

Stewart’s missed free throw in the last second of Game 1 saw that encounter go into overtime as the Lynx claimed a shock win. This time, New York made sure there was no comeback from their opponents, with Stewart posting 21 points, five assists, eight rebounds and the record seven steals.

Lynx had come within two points of New York with just under four minutes left in the match when the home side closed out Game 2 with a 12-0 run to seal the win and level the finals series at 1-1 heading to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4.

Courtney Williams and Napheesa Collier – whose efforts inspired the Game 1 win – were unable to replicate their heroics in Game 2, combining for 31 points this time, while Kayla McBride was only able to chip in eight points.

Both teams now head to Target Center where Games 3 and 4 will take place in Minnesota. For now, check out highlights of Game 2 here.
