Arsenal have been handed a timely boost ahead of their trip to face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, just a day after Gabriel Magalhaes was ruled out till next season due to a hamstring problem.

The Gunners were dealt the massive blow of losing Gabriel after picking up an injury in the win against Fulham last time out, with Jurrien Timber also failing to finish the match after struggling with knee issues, while Ben White was unable to join the squad for the game.

However, manager Mikel Arteta has provided a glimmer of hope by revealing that both Timber and White could return to action this weekend at Merseyside and be available for the match against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League next week.

“Losing Gabi was a tough one to digest. It is a big miss, undoubtedly, and Riccardo is not fit either,” Arteta said. “In the last week or so we have lost four players, and that’s obviously a big task, but let’s see how Ben and Jurrien are tomorrow. There is a chance (they could be available.”

The Arsenal boss added, “We need to find solutions to keep competing as we have done. This is a beautiful part of the season and we have to react. That means other players are going to have opportunities to play.”
