Blow for Real Madrid as Key Player Ruled Out of Man City Showdown in UEFA Champions League

Real Madrid have been dealt a major blow as veteran player, Lucas Vazquez, will miss the team’s UEFA Champions League playoff round clash against Manchester City due to a hamstring injury.

The utility Spanish player picked up the injury during Madrid’s 1-1 draw with city rivals Atletico Madrid in La Liga over the weekend, further worsening the club’s defensive crisis.

Vázquez joins an already lengthy injury list ahead of their crucial tie against the Cityzens, with Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti facing a selection headache in the defensive department.

Ancelotti is already saddled with the absence of key defenders such as Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and David Alaba.

It is yet unclear how long Vazquez would be out of action, but Madrid will be hoping he isn’t sidelined for too long.
