Arsenal are set to be without the services of six first-team members ahead of their Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Gunners currently have some injury concerns, with the duo of William Saliba (hamstring) and Myles Lewis-Skelly (knee) being the latest doubts for the Matchday 23 encounter.
“With Myles there’s nothing serious on the scan so it will be a matter of today having a meeting with the medical staff and a training session and whether it’s too early or not,” Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
Arteta added, “With Willy [Saliba] it’s the same. I think they’ll definitely be in for next week but this week, let’s see how it goes.”
Full-back, Ben White, is another absentee for the Wolves clash, though he appears to be edging closer to a return. The defender underwent minor knee surgery in November but could soon return to training.
Then the trio of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu are Arsenal’s other long-term absentees, and are not expected to make their returns any time soon.
Arsenal, who are unbeaten in their last 12 matches in the Premier League, will be hoping to go on a winning run as they bid to try and catch league leaders Liverpool.
