Bendel Insurance Find Out Punishment for Security Lapses in Kano Pillars Clash

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Bendel Insurance, have received punishment from the league’s disciplinary board after being found in breach of Rule B13.52, C9, C11, and C1.1 of the Frameworks and Rules of the league.

The regulations concern matters of security lapses, assault on match officials and fan behaviour that amounts to intimidation and violence in the 1-0 loss at home to Kano Pillars in a league match on Saturday.

As a result, Insurance were fined a total of N3.75m, which includes N2m for inadequate security and misconduct, N1m for bringing the game into disrepute, and N750,000 as compensation for the assaulted officials.

The Edo State-based club also got deducted three points and three goals and will have to play their next three home matches behind closed doors.
