Bayern Munich To Hold Contract Talks With Player after International Break

Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich, are reportedly set to engage in contract talks with winger Leroy Sane after the international break.

The German international’s current contract will expire this summer but there have been signals from both player and club that a new deal could possibly be ironed out before the end of the season.

According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Bavarians are planning on holding discussions with Sane about his contract situation after the March window for international fixtures.

Bayern have proposed the idea of putting Sané on a lowered wage, performance-based contract as the management tries to reduce the overall wage bill and free up financial resources for future transfers.

There is no concrete decision at this time but it is understood by all parties that Sané would prefer staying at Bayern than searching for pastures new.

Sané has personally expressed a willingness to take a pay cut and play on a performance-based contract in order to stay in Munich, even though there are clubs abroad that are interested in acquiring his services.
