Bayern Munich Target €165m Squad Rebuild – These Players Could Be On Their Way Out

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are pushing for major player exits to generate funds for top-tier attacking reinforcements such as Nico Williams and Rafael Leao.

The Bavarians are planning to raise €165m (£140m/$178m) through player sales to fund moves for Williams, Leao and Bradley Barcola in the summer transfer window, according to Sport Bild.

Bayern have already secured €35 million (£30m/$38m) from the sale of Mathys Tel to Tottenham and are aiming to generate a further €130 million (£110m/$140m) through additional outings. Kim Min-jae and Kingsley Coman are each valued at €35m (£30m/$38m) with clubs from the Middle East showing interest.

The German champions are also willing to offload Joao Palhinha for a fee between €30m and €35m (£25m–£30m/$32m–$38m), accepting a potential loss on the €51 million (£43m/$55m) they paid to Fulham last summer.

Bayern are undergoing a significant squad overhaul and are looking to recoup funds by offloading fringe players and underperforming recent signings.

Bryan Zaragoza and Sacha Boey, who arrived in the January 2024 window, are poised to leave for roughly €10m (£8.5m/$11m). Villarreal and Osasuna are reportedly interested in Zaragoza, while Galatasaray want Boey on a loan deal with an option to buy.

In addition, goalkeeper Daniel Peretz could leave the Allianz Arena, with the German giants demanding at least €8m (£7m/$9m) from PSV for the Israeli international. With an eye towards bolstering the attack and adding more strength to the wings, the revenues from these deals would allow Bayern to pursue at least one big purchase this summer.

Bayern have been rumoured to show interest in Roma’s goalkeeper Mile Svilar. The club also indicated its desire in Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez; however, the deal seems to be off. Still, Bayern will continue talks with interested clubs to finalise outgoing transfers and reach the €165 million target.

Once sales are secured, the club are expected to accelerate efforts to sign at least one of their three primary attacking targets, especially Williams, Leao or Barcola. The timing of these incomings and outgoings will mostly determine Vincent Kompany’s pre-season preparations.
