Harry Kane’s availability for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League knock-out phase second leg playoff match against Celtic was thrown in doubt after the striker missed training.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany confirmed news surrounding the Englishman’s fitness, with the 31-year-old suffering a knock to the face during Bayern’s goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, though he played the entire 90 minutes.

The England international was not seen at training on Monday, with Bayern due to host Celtic at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.

“It [the injury] is nothing bad. We haven’t had much time for recovery and sometimes you need an extra rest day,” Kompany said. “We will see how he [Kane] feels and make a decision then, but I expect its nothing serious. There has not been much time for the squad to recover.”

Kane, who has netted 29 goals in 30 appearances for the Bavarians this season, was on the scoresheet at Celtic Park last week as the Bundesliga leaders recorded a 2-1 victory in the first-leg.
