Teenage Barcelona wonderkid, Lamine Yamal, has claimed a second major award in a month as his stock continues to rise thanks to a phenomenal 2024.
17-year-old Yamal has been named the Golden Boy award winner, beating the likes of Joao Neves, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Warren Zaire-Emery to the prize, just as he did to win the Kopa Award at the Ballon d;Or in October.
Awarded by Italian sports publication, Tuttosport, the Golden Boy award is presented to the best young footballer in the world. He succeeds Real Madrid star, Jude Bellingham, as the award winner.
Yamal has enjoyed a successful 2024, being instrumental in Spain’s triumph at the European Championship as well as being Barcelona’s standout performer last season.
