Barcelona’s recent 3-1 victory over Espanyol in the Catalan Derby marked a milestone it took Barcelona’s goal tally to an impressive 50 goals this season, achieved in just 15 games.

The win puts Barca nine points clear at the top of La Liga, ahead of Real Madrid whose match against Valencia was postponed due to the devastating floods that have hit the Valencia region of Spain recently.

Hansi Flick’s men have reached the milestone ahead of the 2016/17 team with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar that achieved the feat after 17 matches in that season. The only better record dates back to the 1950-51 season, when Barcelona managed to score even more within the first 12 league games.

Barcelona have netted two or more goals in all but one match in the league, a narrow 1-0 victory over Getafe at home. Their goal-scoring prowess has delivered several high-scoring victories over La Liga opponents, including a 7-0 win against Valladolid, a 5-1 triumph over Villarreal, and a resounding 4-0 win in El Clasico against Real Madrid.

The club’s scoring momentum extends to the Champions League, where they’ve added another 10 goals, averaging three goals per game. Notable wins include a 5-0 victory against Young Boys and a 4-1 result over Bayern Munich.
