Wojciech Szczesny has been registered by Barcelona for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign following his arrival at Camp Nou. Szczesny was signed as a free agent after the Poland goalkeeper came out of his recent retirement from football.
While Szczesny was in the stands when Barcelona took on Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League, the 34-year-old is set to use this international break to regain match fitness.
Inaki Pena has been in goal since Marc-Andre Ter Stegen who sustained a season-ending injury during the 5-1 win at Villarreal in September.
But Szczesny will be looking to get in the starting line-up for the club’s La Liga clash at home to FC Sevilla on October 20, followed by the blockbuster Champions League clash at home to Bayern Munich three days later.
