Atletico Madrid have reached verbal agreement with La Liga rivals Valencia to sign Spanish wonderkid, Javi Guerra, although another Girona and Chelsea are looking to hijack the move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old is supposed to sign with the Colchoneros if Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher fails to reach an agreement with the La Liga outfit soon.
But now that Gallagher is set to sign with the Metropolitano outfit, Football Espana reports that Chelsea and Girona could swoop to sign Guerra from the Mestella.
Girona are looking to bolster their midfield, with Guerra among the targets for La Liga’s surprise package in the 2023/24 season. Girona is already close to getting Oriol Romeu.
Guerra made 37 league appearances in what was a breakout season for him, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
