Marcus Rashford is reportedly the subject of a late January transfer window interest from Premier League rivals, Aston Villa, after the Midlands outfit joined in the race to sign the Manchester United outcast.
Villa manager, Unai Emery, is currently looking for attacking replacements, after Jhon Duran made a £64 million switch to Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr, and ,Emiliano Buendia, joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
Emery has now turned his attention to the out-of-favour Man United striker although Rashford would reportedly “need some convincing” to head down to Villa on a temporary deal.
Rashford has been linked with several loan moves away from Old Trafford during the winter transfer window, with the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund all expressing interest in a temporary move for the 27-year-old.
It is believed the England international prefers a move to FC Barcelona, but a switch to the La Liga giants looks increasingly unlikely due to the finances involved – Rashford’s £325,000-a-week pay has proven to be a major stumbling block in negotiations with Barca and several other European clubs, who have been priced out of a move.
Rashford, who last featured for the Red Devils in mid-December, has managed just four goals this season from 15 appearances.
