Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed there is concern over Bukayo Saka’s injury following the winger’s exit midway through the first half of Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Saka was forced off in the 24th minute with what appeared to be a hamstring issue, and left Selhurst Park on crutches. “He felt something in his hamstring, he couldn’t continue,” Arteta said after the match. “He will have to be assessed. [I’m] pretty worried about that one.”
Asked if this was Saka’s third hamstring injury, Arteta replied, “I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same one, it’s in the same leg. I don’t know how big this is going to be but he’s already had two.”
Adding to Arteta’s worries, fellow winger Raheem Sterling is also dealing with an injury, which has ruled him out of Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, including Saturday’s match. “We don’t know for how long,” Arteta confirmed. “To lose two players in 24 hours is not good.”
