Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has expressed his frustrations about the ball used in the Carabao Cup competition following the Gunners’ 2-0 loss at home to Newcastle United in a first leg semi-final match on Tuesday.
The Londoners dominated play and came close to scoring when Gabriel Martinelli was denied by the woodwork, but goals either side of half-time by Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon secured the advantage for the efficient Magpies.
Speaking after the match, Arteta stated that the match ball used in the Carabao Cup is different compared to the one used in the Premier League.
How big or small an impact do you think the size/type of ball can have on a team’s performance?
