Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic has agreed a deal with Spanish La Liga outfit Real Sociedad in a move that could pave the way for Arsenal to bolster their midfield by signing Mikel Merino from Sociedad.
Sucic is set to sign a long term deal after undergoing his medicals with the 21-year-old rumoured to be a direct replacement for Mikel Merino, who is close to a move to the 2023/24 English Premier League runners-up, Arsenal, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Sucic made 128 appearances with the Austrian side in a four-year spell, scoring 18 goals and assisting 19 times during the period.
Arsenal fans will hope his move does facilitate Merino’s arrival at the Emirates in the club’s push to end a 20-year wait for a league title.
