Real Betis are through to the UEFA Conference League quarter-final stage after a Cedric Bakambu brace coupled with a goal and an assist by Antony sealed a 4-0 win at Vitoria Guimaraes to complete a 6-2 aggregate demolition on Thursday night.
The Brazilian forward, on loan from Manchester United, continues to enjoy a new lease of life with Betis, with the club now into the last eight of the competition following another impressive display from him and the team.
Level at 2-2 from the first leg in Spain last week, Bakambu got Manuel Pellegrini’s side up and running with two goals in the opening 20 minutes, while Antony made it 3-0 just before the hour mark, then turned provider for Isco to seal the result 10 minutes from time.
Elsewhere in the Conference League, Fiorentina came from behind on aggregate to overcome Panathinaikos 5-4 following a 3-1 win in the second leg in Italy, while Legia Warsaw also completed an aggregate comeback after beating Molde 2-0 to seal a 4-3 aggregate win after extra time.
