Manchester United had Amad Diallo to thank as he had a hand in both goals to help the Red Devils come from a goal down to claim a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s City came into the latest Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium looking to end a run of seven losses in their last 10 matches in all competitions, but Ruben Amorim’s United had other ideas.
it was going to plan for City when Josko Gvardiol’s header put the Premier League champions in front 10 minutes before half-time, and the Cityzens were minutes away from getting a relieving win along with bragging rights.
But Amad Diallo was fouled in the City area, allowing Bruno Fernandes equalise for the visitors in the 88th minute, before the Ivorian winger ran on to Lisandro Martinez’s ball over the top, beating Ederson to the ball before slotting into the bottom corner for a 90th minute winner.
The result leaves City nine points off league leaders, Liverpool, with 27 points in fifth spot while United remain 13th with 22 points.
