Manchester United escaped humiliation at home to Southampton in the Premier League on Thursday night thanks to Amad Diallo, who came through with a hat-trick in the closing eight minutes of the match.
United fell behind to a Manuel Ugarte own goal two minutes before the half-time break and were headed for a first defeat in the new year against a team with one win in the league so far this season.
Amad Diallo made sure that stat was extended for the Saints with his equaliser in the 82nd minute, followed by the match-winner on the stroke of 90 minutes.
The Ivorian then made sure of victory four minutes into stoppage time to hand United a 3-1 win and move the Red Devils up to 12th spot on the Premier League table with 26 points, four points off the top half of the league.
