Alexander Isak’s Chance of Facing Liverpool in Carabao Cup Final Revealed

Swedish hitman Alexander Isak could be out on the sidelines for a while, after picking up an injury during his team’s FA Cup fifth-round home defeat against Brighton.

The Magpies were dealt a blow towards the end of regulation time, as Isak was forced off with a suspected hamstring injury and was replaced by Callum Wilson.

Isak is now a doubt for their Carabao Cup Final tie against Liverpool in two weeks time. He had missed the Magpies’ defeat to Liverpool at the end of February due to a minor ankle issue.

While the fitness of Isak is being assessed in the next fortnight leading up to the Final, manager Eddie Howe will be hoping for some good news as the Geordies bid to end their long-overdue trophy drought.
