Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, was on target for Kano Pillars in a 2-0 win over Lobi Stars in Kano, a result that confirms Lobi’s relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday.

Following a goalless first half at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Musa put Pillars ahead 10 minutes after the restart off an assist from Rabiu Ali, while Naziru Ibrahim, who came on at half-time, sealed the win with a stoppage time penalty.

The result leaves Lobi 16 points away from safety on 25 points after 33 games, with 15 points left to play for this season. Pillars on their part move up the table to seventh with 47 points, two points behind fifth placed Bendel Insurance that came away from Ilorin with a 1-0 win over Kwara United.

In other NPFL matches, Ikorodu City closed the gap on Rivers United to three points after a 3-0 win at home to Niger Tornadoes, Heartland claimed a 2-0 win over Rangers in Enugu and ease their relegation worries a bit, while Nasarawa United held on to get a 3-2 win at home to Plateau United.
