Former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, scored yet again for Kano Pillars to help the club come out victors of a seven-goal thriller against reigning champions, Rangers, in a Nigeria Professional Football League match.

Musa, who scored a brace on his homecoming to Pillars, got on the scoresheet again while club legend, Rabiu Ali, scored twice as the Kano outfit took a shock 4-0 lead into the half-time break in Enugu.

In what can be described as a game of two halves, Rangers staged a dramatic comeback in the second, with Isaac Johnson scoring twice and Silas Nenrot ensuring a tense end to the game with his 90th minute strike.

But the efforts of Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men to grab an unlikely point from the game proved too little too late as Pillars held on for the 4-3 win, sealing the visitors first road victory of the league season.

Elsewhere, Enyimba missed out on the chance to go top of the league after being held to a 1-1 draw by Niger Tornadoes in Aba. Kwara United bashed Sunshine Stars 3-0 in Ilorin while Nasarawa United overcame Abia Warriors with the same scoreline.
